Red Sheen Obsidian combines the reddish coloring of Mahogany Obsidian with the iridescent glitter of Gold Sheen Obsidian. It is very rare, but worth seeking out. Like other Obsidians, it is formed from rapidly cooling lava following a volcanic eruption. Most Red Sheen comes from the volcanic field of Black Rock Desert, Utah in the western United States. The volcanos in this area are small cones, the tallest of which is a 300 ft hill. Red Sheen is a wonderful stone of emotionally grounding when other people have triggered us. It helps us to recognize the truth of the situation and to love truth more than we love being right.
